Game Copy Legalities

Certain things are essential to know if you attempt to backup or copy
360 games. For one, copying games with the intention of reselling
them constitutes piracy and is a prosecutable crime in most countries.
Copying games to use as personal backup is an idea intended only for
games you already own and intend to keep (hence the copied game is a
“backup” of what you already have). Furthermore, Xbox 360 consoles
must be modified in order to play copied games. Various instructions
can be found online to modify your unit, but it is important to be
careful when going about this as such modification can void your
warranty and prohibit your access to Xbox Live. Next, you’ll need to
know a little bit about Xbox 360 discs in order to understand why you
can just do a regular CD game copy in order to back them up. Xbox 360
discs are special DVDs.

Copying Games And The Law Is It Legal To Copy My Games

To actually copy DVDs used for Xbox 360
games, you’ll need a CD-burner that can handle dual-layered discs and
a few of the discs themselves, obviously. Burning software that only
manages typical DVD movie discs will not be sufficient. You’ll need
special game-copying software (make sure you purchase a legitimate
one—the price might be higher, but it will protect you from
accidentally downloading malware with it—and make sure it can
specifically handle Xbox 360 games). Try out the copied game. If it
works, great! If not, you’ve probably done one of the steps wrong.

Controlled by the three-dimensional movements of its players, the Nintendo
Wii console represents a leap forward in gaming. But the hardware,
innovative as it is, still has a weakness: its software.

Wii games, at least as long as they’re delivered via fragile discs, will
always be susceptible to damage. Creating a game copy is an easy way to
avoid paying $20 – $50 to replace a disc.

Here’s what you’ll need:

1. Find and install a DVD-ROM drive that is capable of dumping an image
of a Nintendo Wii game on your computer. This can’t be just any DVD-ROM
drive. These are some drives that will work: the LG GDR-8164B, the LG-8163b,
the LG-8162b and the LG-8161b.

2. Now you need to download and install each of these programs:
WinRar,
RawDump
2.0and
.net
Framework
2.0(.net
Framework 2.0 not necessary for Vista users).

3. Right click on the Rawdump.rar icon and choose the “extract to
rawdump2.0\” option. This will create a folder called “Rawdump” on the
desktop.

4. Insert a Wii game into the drive you installed. Open the “Rawdump”
folder on your desktop and start the Rawdump.exe application. In the Rawdump
interface window, select “Start Dump,” then wait for the process to complete
(may take several hours).

5. Check to make sure the size of the .ISO file is exactly 4.37 GB
(4,699,979,776 bytes).
6. The last step is to burn the .ISO file on a DVD, using any DVD
burning software. Copy Games
